What We Believe

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is divinely inspired, inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and religious opinion should be tested.

God

We believe that there is one and only one true living God. He is the sovereign Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe who is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. We owe Him the highest love, reverence and obedience. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.

God the Son

We believe in the deity of Christ. He is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily arouse from the dead and ascended into Heaven where He presently intercedes for us. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. He performs the miracle of new birth in the unbeliever and indwells believers. He enables the believer to live a godly life.

Man

We believe man was created by the special act of God and in His own image. In the beginning man was innocent of sin but through the temptation of Satan and by man’s own free choice, man sinned against God and fell from his original innocence. Consequently, every member of the human race inherits a sinful nature and as soon as they are capable of moral action become sinners and are under just condemnation. Only the grace of God can remove that condemnation and bring man into fellowship with God.

Salvation

We believe salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. God credits His righteousness to those who believe in Christ alone for their salvation. In this way He freely justifies them and brings them into a relationship of peace and favor with Him.

Perseverance of the Saints

We believe all true believers endure to the end. Believers may fall into sin through neglect and temptation for a season and even bring temporal judgments of God on themselves, yet their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors, as they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.
